Do the Math . . .

Chad Riddersen

My husband and his younger sister are 6 years apart in age, but their birthdays are only 8 days apart on the calendar.  When I got pregnant, and my doctor challenged me to remember the date of conception, I began to think why/how my husband and his sister came to have such similar birthdays.  I did the math, and lo and behold, it looks like both my husband and his sister were conceived on or around my in-laws' wedding anniversary!    My dear hubby was rather disturbed that I was thinking about this, but I thought it was funny.

That’s funny. I was also told that we are more fertile at certain times of the year. My boys are 5 years apart but their birthday’s are 6 days apart and I was trying to avoid having their birthdays in the same month.

When we started the adoption process, we were shown stats when most adoptions occurred and they usually involved drinking and bad decisions. I’ll give you a hint on the most common. One of our boys was born Oct 2 and the other November 15.

Ha! I’ve done the same thing for myself; I got all grossed out when I realized that I was conceived on/around my mom’s birthday. Ick. Maybe my parents were hoping for an encore when they got pregnant with my sister, but I guess they had to wait an additional month for little ol’ Andie.
